2/11/2010 - Lexington, Mass.Drum Exchange Owner Takes Home $5,000 in Marketing Products from Vistaprint
Vistaprint USA, Incorporated, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Vistaprint N.V. (Nasdaq: VPRT), the company that provides high-impact personalized products and services for small businesses and the home, today announced the winners of the “Why I Love Vistaprint” video contest. Ed Hartman, owner of the Drum Exchange in Seattle was selected as the winner of $5,000 VistaBucks.
The video themed contest tasked Vistaprint’s loyal customer base to come up with the best short video that explained or demonstrated why they love Vistaprint. The company received some tremendous examples of the type of customers that market themselves passionately each and every day across the country, but ultimately, Hartman’s well produced video shot around his musical shop stood out among the rest.
“We are a true mom and pop musical equipment store. My wife, Candace, does the marketing and promotion. She is a ‘Vistaprint Virtuoso,’ and has mastered all things printable,” said Hartman. “We have made great use of Vistaprint products, including signs, postcards, mouse pads, calendars, outdoor banners, etc. The service has been easy to use, fast, efficient, and excellent in quality. Vistaprint is a great place to try out creative ideas 24-7. The products have made our store look more professional and slick. Customers consistently comment on our signage, and have even asked if it is available for sale!”
The “Why I Love Vistaprint Contest” launched on September 17, 2009 and concluded on December 15; the winners were selected by members of Vistaprint’s marketing team. Secondary prize winners of $250 in VistaBucks (merchandise credit on the Vistaprint site good for one year) were Sandra Thoney, Denise Marcotte, and Geoffrey George. Hartman’s winning video is embedded within this release and is also viewable on the Vistaprint YouTube page along with the other prize winning videos.
“Mr. Hartman’s video embodied everything that we were looking for in the contest and he did a great job of showing off his entrepreneurial spirit,” said Vistaprint North America Chief Marketing Officer Trynka Shineman. “Many small business owners are faced with the difficult task of finding a marketing partner that works on their schedule and his video personifies this situation. At Vistaprint, we strive to eliminate this dilemma by offering small business owners a one-stop shop to create their marketing materials on their schedule.”

“ Mr. Hartman has combined a catchy melody with colorful harmonies for his “soldiers,” enhanced with a simple but effective piano accompaniment that is well within the capabilities of the student pianist. This solo gives intermediate students an entertaining diversion while they increase their familiarity with the xylophone keyboard."
